ABOUT
BACKGROUND
Los Angeles. Chicago. New York. Did we mention Los Angeles?
Born and raised on the mean streets of Laguna Beach, Alexander Burke knew that forging a life in music would be his only way out.
He dreamt of someday, somehow finding a way to make it all the way to Los Angeles.
Alexander is not adept at gauging distances.
A series of chance encounters with mid-level celebrities and low-level criminals propelled Alexander beyond his responsible day job as a mall pianist’s understudy and onto the global stage.
At the time, critics reported that a 14-year-old Alexander wasn’t yet prepared for the challenges that accompany the life of a superstar keyboardist in a Nickelodeon band, but Alexander proved himself worthy.
It has been said that it’s impossible to land on the moon without reaching for the stars. Alexander reached for Los Angeles and landed in Chicago. Once again, Alexander’s challenges with spatial orientation led him off course. This deficit was the sole reason he was disqualified from pursuing a professional career in basketball.
In Chicago, Alexander worked as a Musical Director, teaching and acting with The Second City. In his spare time, he engaged with questionably legendary jazz artists and found himself humiliated into honing his craft in the pursuit of meticulous perfectionism. There is no greater motivator than the direct influence of unpleasant and unsavory but marginally accomplished musicians whose instruments require regular cleaning.
After consulting a map of the United States, resulting in a profound “huh,” Alexander set sail back to Los Angeles.
Aside from embarking on several high profile world tours, Alexander has remained in Los Angeles ever since.
He creates music, acts, performs, produces and even dances in music videos from time to time. Alexander is never bored.
If you find yourself in Los Angeles and are uncertain how you might be acquainted with someone, just ask whether they know Alexander Burke.
In all likelihood, they do.
